About This Performance

Gamut, in music, is the complete range of pitches in a system, and it derives from “Gamma-Ut,” the lowest pitch in the hexachord system. Paying tribute to the root of so much of what classical music is today, twelve exceptional artists come together to demonstrate the insights of Bach in an evening of “dialogue” cantatas.

Sarah Shafer, soprano; Thomas Meglioranza, baritone; Mary Lynch, oboe; Frank Rosenwein, oboe;  Alexandra von der Embse, english horn; Emilie-Anne Gendron, violin; David McCarroll, violin; Ayane Kozasa, viola; Angela Park, cello; Heather Miller Lardin, double bass; Maho Sone Grazzini, organ; Koji Otsuki, violoncello piccolo and director

Bach: Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen, BWV 49
Bach: Selig ist der Mann, BWV 57
Bach: Selection of Seasonal Arias
