The Artist

British mezzo-soprano Alice Coote studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio.  In concert, she has performed with the LPO, Hallé, OAE, RLPO, RPO, Philharmonia, Concertgebouw, Rotterdam and New York Philharmonic Orchestras under conductors such as Nagano, Pešek, Menuhin, Boulez, Elder, Salonen and Gergiev.  In recital Ms. Coote is in demand throughout Europe and the U.S., appearing regularly at London’s Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and at New York’s Lincoln Center.  Alice Coote's recordings include Walton’s Gloria, The Choice of Hercules, Orfeo, The Dream of Gerontius and a highly acclaimed recital disc of Schumann and Mahler with Julius Drake.  Her recording of Mahler's Second Symphony for EMI Virgin, with Natalie Dessay and Paavo Jarvi was released in February 2010.

Bradley Moore enjoys a career as a pianist and vocal coach at the Metropolitan Opera, where he is currently an assistant conductor. He has performed with many of the world’s great singers, including Renée Fleming, Plácido Domingo, and Denyce Graves.  He has been associated with the Salzburg Festival for several years, where has been musical assistant to Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, and Ivor Bolton.  Mr. Moore holds degrees from the University of Maryland and Yale University. His principal teachers were Thomas Schumacher, Maria Curcio Diamand, and Claude Frank.  He completed his musical training with James Levine in the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artists Development Program.  His most recent PCMS appearance was with bass-baritone Eric Owens in 2009.
