About This Performance

This concert is part of the Elaine Kligerman Piano Recital Series.

For Inon Barnatan’s return to PCMS he brings a recital of works inspired by Chopin’s own music and composers linked to genres he defined or popularized like Ballades, Nocturnes, and Mazurkas. In describing Chopin’s music Barnatan has referred to his output—especially for solo piano—as: “Sentiment without sentimentality, very beautiful and touching.”
