Erik Petersons

Education & Outreach Director

Erik is responsible for the Education Program and community outreach efforts. He coordinates the master class series, children's concerts, open rehearsals, and pre-concert lectures. He also manages special artistic projects—the most recent being Departure & Discovery, a season-long exploration of “late style” works with pianist Jonathan Biss. To round things out, he assists with grant writing, audience development and engagement efforts, and organizes a “Social Series” which pairs concerts with tastings from local food and drink purveyors.

Erik earned his B.A. in Music Education from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in 2007 and before joining PCMS in 2010, he directed the strings program at Penn View Christian School and held an adjunct teaching post at Cairn University. Erik lives in Germantown with his wife and three daughters and enjoys biking to work every autumn.
