About This Performance

This concert sponsored as part of the Elaine Kligerman Piano Series.

Winner of the 2008 Rubinstein International Piano Competition, Uzbek-born pianist Roman Rabinovich is acclaimed for compelling, dynamic, highly sensitive playing. Dubbed “a true polymath, in the Renaissance sense of the word” (Seen & Heard International), he makes his PCMS recital debut with a program that culminates in Beethoven’s 23rd sonata, the Appassionata, a work considered by many to be Beethoven’s most emotional and most violent musical utterance.

Haydn: Sonata in E-flat Major, Hob. XVI:52
Rabinovich: Sonatina [U.S. Premiere]
Debussy: Estampes
Beethoven: Sonata in F Minor, Op. 57, Appassionata
