About This Performance

Expect nothing less than “playing of the greatest intelligence and musical integrity” (The Guardian) when Imogen Cooper immerses herself in the work of two composers close to her heart: Schumann and Liszt. A national treasure in her native England, Cooper has become known for poetic, insightful interpretations and a rare ability to negotiate the composers’ shifting moods. After a recital in Australia last season, the music website Bachtrack raved that “Cooper succeeded where only a few would in opening the imaginary gate between artist and the outside world and inviting her audience into a most intimate sphere.”
