Children and Family Concerts
To broaden our outreach into the Philadelphia community, PCMS partners with the Free Library of Philadelphia in a pilot program to bring a taste of chamber music to the neighborhood branches of the Library throughout the city. Utilizing the Library's physical presence and connections, PCMS presents free interactive concerts throughout the season.
The Free Library of Philadelphia has been delighted to partner with the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society as we continue to inspire curiosity as part of our mission. This past year PCMS presented the Chestnut Brass Company in a performance at Parkway Central and a delighted crowd of over 250 4th and 5th grade students from the area attended and were enthralled. This year we look forward to the presentation of the Dalí String Quartet in two of our neighborhood libraries as well as once again in Parkway Central. Because of the Latino makeup of the quartet this year, we have selected our Wyoming Library on November 12, the Lillian Marrero Library on January 22, and April 7 at Parkway Central. I know we will have large and enthusiastic audiences at each location and how wonderful that the Free Library has such a great partner as PCMS to share the joy of music and learning. -- Siobhan A.
