It’s been exactly one month since our last piano recital, thus all of us at PCMS are looking forward more than ever to Jonathan Biss’s upcoming recital at the Perelman Theater.

In speaking about the pieces on his January 25th program, Mr. Biss stated that he purposely chose works which had long been important to him, in some cases for most of his life.

The program includes two iconic works that Mr. Biss has recorded, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 23 in F Minor “Appassionata” and Schumann’s Fantasy in C Major, Op. 17, alongside a new work that was commissioned by Music Accord and written for him by Bernard Rands.  Mr. Biss premiered the piece just last month at the Internationale Pianisten in Mainz, Germany.
