On Friday, 11/8, at Perelman Theater, join PCMS in welcoming pianist Mitsuko Uchida, violinist Stephanie Zyzak, violist Beth Guterman Chu, and cellist Oliver Herbert. These musicians, united by the Musicians from Marlboro touring program, present a program that includes beloved works by Schumann and Beethoven, as well as selections from "Signs, Games, and Messages" by 1997 Marlboro Composer-in-Residence György Kurtág.

As we eagerly await Karim Sulayman`s debut performance at PCMS on October 20th, we had the opportunity to hold a discussion with the tenor himself. Acclaimed for its profound musical insight and rare tonal beauty, the New York-based Escher Quartet arrives in Philadelphia on Wednesday, 10/30 to perform Samuel Barber`s Quartet in B Minor, Op. 11 and Florence Price`s Quartet No. 2 in A Minor. They will be joined by violist Jordan Bak, “a powerhouse musician, with a strong voice and compelling sound” (The Whole Note), for Dvořák’s American string quintet.

A Grand Prize-winner of the 2022 Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition and the 2021 Chicago International Music Competition, Britton-René has dedicated her art to shaping a more diverse and inclusive community for all musicians.
