Video Preview: Joyce DiDonato sings “Scena di Berenice”

February 9th, 2011

Published in: Artist News, Chamber Music

If you’re as excited for Joyce DiDonato’s February 28th recital as I am, you may enjoy this video of the “flame toned American mezzo” performing Haydn’s “Scena di Berenice” — the first selection on her PCMS program with pianist David Zobel.  Performing with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Sir Roger Norrington, conductor, she brings the house down, then conducts a brief interview (starting at the 5:30 mark) with the BBC’s Suzy Klein in which she talks briefly about singing Haydn and breaking a leg (literally).
