About This Performance

This concert is sponsored in honor of Pauline Candaux's Birthday, with love from Sol Katz.

Each summer, musicians from around the world gather in the Green Mountains of Vermont to participate in a “fundamentally natural and unique” approach to music-making (New York Classical Review). In their second appearance this season, Musicians from Marlboro reintroduces Untitled—a 2023 PCMS commission by composer and MacArthur “Genius” Tyshawn Sorey—as well as a pair of works by Beethoven, including the vivacious Septet in E-flat Major, Op. 20.

Claire Bourg & Stephanie Zyzak, violin; Cara Pogossian, viola; Marcy Rosen, cello; Nina Bernat, double bass; Javier Morales-Martinez, clarinet; Natalya Rose Vrbsky, bassoon; Carys Sutherland, horn

Sorey: Untitled (2023) PCMS Commission
Beethoven: String Quartet in E Minor, Op. 59, No. 2
Beethoven: Septet in E-flat Major, Op. 20

Running time: 1 hour and 50 minutes (including intermission)
