Bernarda Fink, mezzo-soprano

The Argentinean mezzo-soprano, Bernarda Fink, was born to Slovenian parents in Buenos Aires, and received her vocal and musical education ot the Instituto Superio de Arte del Teatro Colón where she used to perform frequently, also maintaining a close connection with the Academia Bach de Buenos Aires and Festivales Musicales de Buenos Aires.

In 1985 Bernarda Fink won the First Prize at the Nuevas Voces Liricas competition and moved to Europe where she has since sung with the Vienna Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bruckner Orchestra of Linz (Austria), The English Baroque Soloists, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, Residentie Orkest of The Hague, I Solisti Veneti, New Japan Philharmonic, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, and others.

Bernarda Fink has performed to wide critical acclaim at the Grand Théí¢tre de Génève, Czech National Opera, the opera houses of Montpellier and Innsbruck (Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria), Rennes (La Cenerentola), Barcelona, Salzburg (Cosí¬ fan tutte), The Nederlandse Opera and Teatro Colón.

Bernarda Fink's recitals include performances at the Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall (in the New York Festival of Song), the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Slovenian Philharmonic Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Recently she has sung Wagner's Wesendonk Lieder, Berlioz's Les Nuits d'été, Gustav Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde and DvoÅ™ák's Biblical Songs among other works.
