Called the "Yo-Yo Ma of the harp," Bridget Kibbey explodes the instrument's capabilities via innovative programming and touring projects. From exploring the intricacies of baroque ornamentation to the lush virtuosity of the French Belle Époque to the rhythmic migration found in Brazil and Colombia, Kibbey re-energizes an ancient instrument as soloist and alongside today's top performing artists. She is a recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Classical Recording Foundation's Young Artist Award, a Salon de Virtuosi SONY Recording Grant, a winner of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Society CMS II, Concert Artist Guild's International Competition, Astral Artist Auditions, and Premiere Prix at the Journées de les Harpes Competition in Arles, France.
