Chicago Quartet

The Chicago String Quartet was founded by DePaul University in the fall of 1995. Primary members included first violinist Joseph Genualdi, formerly of the Los Angeles Piano Quartet; second violinist Stefan Hersh, a Minnesota Orchestra principal; violist Rami Solomonow, a DePaul professor well-known on the Chicago music scene for his tenures with the Lyric Opera's orchestra and the Chicago Ensemble; and cellist Christopher Costanza, who would go on to play in the St. Lawrence Quartet.
