Enrico Pace, piano

Enrico Pace was born in 1967 in Rimini, Italy. He studied the piano with Franco Scala, first at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro and later at the Accademia Pianistica Incontri col Maestro in Imola. He also studied conducting and composition. He has won first prizes at the International Yamaha Competition in Stresa in 1987 and at the second International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht in 1989. Since then Mr. Pace has performed with many orchestras throughout Europe and Australia. Recent highlights include concerts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi and the Orchestra of Santa Cecilia Rome.

Enrico Pace gives recitals in major concert halls throughout Europe, such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, in Milan, Rome, Berlin, Munich, Salzburg and Dublin and at the festivals of La Roque d’Anthéron, Rheingau and Husum. He is a devoted chamber musician, having worked with the Shostakovich, Keller, Prometeo and RTE Vanbrugh string quartets and with horn player Marie Luise Neunecker. He regularly takes part in chamber music festivals such as Delft, Risí¸r, Kuhmo, Stresa, West Cork and Moritzburg. With renowned violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann he regularly tours throughout Europe, the Far East and South America. Sony Classical released their CD recordings of the Busoni Violin Sonata no. 2 and of the 6 Sonatas for violin and keyboard by Bach. Other musical partners include violinist Leonidas Kavakos and pianist Igor Roma.
