Magellan Quartet

Since 1990, the Magellan String Quartet has been on a quest to craft creative and multi-disciplinary ways to engage and guide audiences through musical explorations, which like spices, make the unfamiliar or perceptively bland more enjoyable and memorable. The Magellan String Quartet takes its name from the Age of Discovery and Ferdinand Magellan, the great Portuguese explorer who led the first circumnavigation of the globe in Spain’s quest to find a new and faster sea route to the Spice Islands in the East.

Concentrating on live performance, the Quartet’s activities range from informative concerts, collaborative community outreach programs, lecture recitals, to master classes, educational workshops, family concerts, and interactive children’s programs
