Ulrich Koella

Swiss pianist Ulrich Koella is much in demand as a chamber musician and accompanist — working among others with renowned artists János Bálint, Olaf Bär, François Benda, Bettina Boller, Eduard Brunner, Fabio Di Cí sola, Thomas Friedli, Martin Fröst, James Galway, Peter-Lukas Graf, Ulrike Helzel, Wolfgang Holzmair, Sharon Kam, Rudolf Koelman, Maxence Larrieu, Orfeo Mandozzi, Laszlo Polgar, Julian Prégardien, Eugene Rousseau, Andreas Schmidt, Bo Skovhus, Elena Tsallagova, Raphael Wallfisch and Hanna Weinmeister. His concert activities have led him to most European countries, the Middle East, Japan, China, Canada, Argentina, Australia and the USA.

He has recorded numerous CD’s with various chamber music partners for claves, Tudor, Centaur, Ars Musici and CRC (China).

Recently, Ulrich Koella has performed complete cycles of the piano-violin sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven with Simone Zgraggen and the piano-cello works by Beethoven with Raphael Wallfisch.

Ulrich Koella is professor for piano chamber music at the Zí¼rcher Hochschule der Kuenste (Switzerland) and gives masterclasses in Israel, the USA, China, Australia and Switzerland.
