This event has passed.

Always among our most eagerly-anticipated special events, Anonymous 4’s annual holiday concert has become a Philadelphia tradition since the group’s PCMS debut at St. Mark’s Church back in 1998. Now having announced that the 2015/16 Season will be its last, the ensemble–long renowned for its heavenly vocal blend and unmatched medieval repertoire–presents one final holiday treat at the Church of the Holy Trinity on Rittenhouse Square.

The Last Noel

Anonymous 4 presents an anthology of some of their favorite songs for Christmas, including songs and carols from medieval England; songs, hymns and conductus from their very first concert program Legends of Saint Nicholas; and tunes from early America.

Renowned for their unearthly vocal blend and virtuosic ensemble singing, the four women of Anonymous 4 combine historical scholarship with contemporary performance intuition to create their magical sound. Their programs have included music from the year 1000; the ecstatic music and poetry of the 12th-century abbess and mystic, Hildegard of Bingen; 13th-century chant and polyphony from England,.
