About This Performance

Two chamber-music couples comprise the recently-formed Clarosa Quartet: violinist Juliette Kang (associate Concert Master of the Philadelphia Orchestra) and her husband Tom Kraines (cellist of the Daedalus Quartet) along with pianist Natalie Zhu (an Astral Artist alum and an Avery Fisher Career Grant winner) and her husband Che-Hung Chen (violist in the Philadelphia Orchestra). Of its initial concert two seasons ago the Philadelphia Inquirer had this to say: “The Brahms was beautifully pulled together (not always true of part-time ensembles) and, by the second movement, truly rocked, with a combination of easy cohesion and unfettered, expressive freedom. The four members are all strong musical personalities.”

Beethoven: String Trio in C Minor, Op. 9, No. 3
Krzywicki: Piano Quartet [World Premiere - PCMS Commission]
Brahms: Piano Quartet in A Major, Op. 26
