About This Performance

ECCO’s previous performances with the Society have seen this esteemed ensemble collaborate with Shai Wosner, Sivan Magen, and Paolo Bordignon—partnerships that have added a wonderful new dimension to the group’s annual PCMS concerts. For its 12th performance on our series, ECCO will be joined by a guest vocalist (TBA) for Britten’s Les Illuminations. Based on a suite of poems by the French poet Arthur Rimbaud, this bright, exuberant work conveys a process of growth and discovery rather than a specific story: a sensitive person encounters the world, struggles to find his place, and emerges from the trial stronger and more confident.

Grieg: Holberg Suite
Britten: Les Illuminations
Benn: When Springs Not Fail  Philadelphia Premiere
Adams: Shaker Loops
