About This Performance

This concert is part of the Elaine Kligerman Piano Recital Series.

Jeremy Denk is known as “a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs” (NPR). His programming evokes a sense of “poetic logic” (Boston Classical Review) that has captivated PCMS audiences for decades. His latest PCMS recital showcases two Beethoven sonatas that were written at different periods of the composer’s life, and two sets  of etudes by female composers: Hélène de Montgeroult, who bridged the gap between the Classical and Romantic eras, and contemporary Korean-born composer Unsuk Chin.

Montgeroult: Études (Sel.)
Beethoven: Sonata in D Minor, Op. 31, No. 2, Tempest
Chin: Etudes No. 1-6
Beethoven: Sonata in A-flat Major, Op. 110
