Beethoven “represents a kind of holy grail: his music has an intensity, rigor, and profundity which keep us in its thrall, and it is perhaps unequalled in the interpretive, technical, and even spiritual challenges it poses,” says Jonathan Biss. In the conclusion of our Beethoven sonata cycle, he applies his prodigious technique, artistic maturity, and eloquence to five more LVB masterworks, culminating in the triumphant and ecstatic radiance of Op. 110.

Beethoven: Sonata in A-flat Major, Op. 26, Funeral March
Beethoven: Sonata in F Major, Op. 54
Beethoven: Sonata in C Major, Op. 53, Waldstein
