About This Performance

The Juilliard Quartet plays “magically, like a single four-voiced instrument, and the music it makes sounds like the most natural and inevitable thing in the world” (Broad Street Review). Returning for an incredible 46th appearance on our series, the Juilliard pairs Maurice Ravel’s only string quartet with British-Jamaican composer Eleanor Alberga’s energetic second quartet. New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinet Anthony McGill then joins them for Mozart’s timeless Clarinet Quintet in A Major.

Ravel: Quartet in F Major
Alberga: Quartet No. 2
Mozart: Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K. 581
