About This Performance

The passionate group of artists in the Marinus Ensemble “come together in various combinations to bring new perspectives to great music.” Their wide-ranging program spans the European continent, from Turina’s distinctly Andalusian Piano Quartet to one of Shostakovich’s best-known and most compelling works: the masterful Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 57.

Sarah Shafer, soprano; Francesca dePasquale & Elizabeth Fayette, violins; Rachel Kuipers Yonan, viola; Matthew Zalkind, cello; Young-Ah Tak, piano

Turina: Piano Quartet in A Minor, Op. 67
Rota: Il Presepio
Chausson: Chanson perpétuelle, Op. 37
Shostakovich: Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 57

This program is offered as a partnership with the John and Richanda Rhoden Arts Center at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
