About This Performance

Musicians from Marlboro tours offer national audiences a glimpse into the magic that happens each summer at “the classical world’s most coveted retreat” (The New Yorker) in Vermont. This season’s second MFM tour, led by former Juilliard Quartet violinist Joseph Lin, features a first half of music for strings and voice by former Marlboro resident composers Earl Kim and Kaija Saariaho. The program concludes with Brahms’ rich and symphonically textured String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 51, No. 2.

Kristina Bachrach, soprano; Masha Lakisova & Joseph Lin, violin; Emad Zolfaghari, viola; Elena Ariza, cello

Saariaho: Die Aussicht
Kim: Three Poems in French
Ravel: Sonata for Violin and Cello
Brahms: String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 51, No. 2
