About This Performance

The Musicians from Marlboro touring program has been lauded as “a virtual guarantee of musical excellence” (Washington Post). In classic Marlboro fashion, musicians at the beginning of compelling careers perform alongside experienced artists in a program that balances works by Haydn and Dvořák with William Bolcom’s cycle Let Evening Come, which sets the poetry of Maya Angelou, Emily Dickinson, and Jane Kenyon for soprano, viola, and piano.

Kristina Bachrach, soprano; Abigail Fayette & Alina Kobialka, violins; Kim Kashkashian & Sharon Wei, violas; Christine J. Lee, cello; Lydia Brown, piano

Haydn: Divertimento in D Major, Hob. V:21
Bolcom: Let Evening Come
Dvořák: String Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 97
