About This Performance

This concert is supported by Sandra Schwartz in memory of her husband, Jerome Schwartz.

In its annual appearances with the Society, the Orion Quartet continues to display masterful technique and an ensemble tone that is “warm, variable, and beautiful” (Strings Magazine). For this collaborative performance, the Orion is joined by two PCMS favorites in Kim Kashkashian and Marcy Rosen for Brahms’s B-flat Major Sextet, a work with an astonishing wealth of melody and masterful sense of proportion.

Haydn: Quartet in C Major, Op. 33, No. 3, Bird
Beethoven: Quartet in F Major, Op. 135
Brahms: Sextet in B-flat Major, Op. 18
