About This Performance

Dedicated to the memory of founding Trio member/pianist Joseph Kalichstein, this performance unites the remaining two members of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio—Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson—with PCMS favorites Anna Polonsky and Nokuthula Ngwenyama. Featuring two of the most revered chamber music works in the canon, this special event also includes the Philadelphia premiere of Ngwenyama’s new work, Elegy. Co-commissioned by PCMS, Elegy was composed in response to the tragic events of spring 2020, including the killing of George Floyd.
