Who better to begin our first Beethoven piano sonata cycle than Rudolf Buchbinder, the legendary Austrian virtuoso who has performed all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas over 50 times. His recital is highlighted by Beethoven’s 23rd sonata, the Appassionata, a work considered by many to be Beethoven’s most emotional and most violent musical utterance.
