About This Performance

Stefan Jackiw and Jeremy Denk are recognized as two of today’s most significant chamber music artists, captivating audiences with playing that combines purity of expression with impeccable technique. Having performed together for the better part of a decade, they have developed such a natural rapport that one reviewer speculated that “the legendary 19th-century recitals of violinist Joseph Joachim and pianist Clara Schumann couldn’t have sounded better than Jackiw and Denk” (Seattle Times). But leave it to the ever-candid Denk to define his recital partner best: “Stefan’s a rare combo: super-smart, perhaps even analytical, but not remotely cold or cynical. He helps you to remember that classical music is not just erudite crap for snobs and nerds–it’s supposed to take your exhausted, stultified synapses and give them a thrill they won’t soon forget.”
