About This Performance

Dubbed “superb” by The New York Times, violinist Tai Murray has played such illustrious venues as the Barbican, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens and Shanghai’s Concert Hall. Now Murray returns to PCMS for her Philosophical Society recital debut with pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute. These two musicians will journey from early romanticism to modernism in a delightfully eclectic program that features two world premieres from James Primosch and Jeffrey Scott as well as works by Korngold, Beethoven and Janáček.

Korngold: Das Wunder der Heliane
Beethoven:  Sonata in A Major, Op. 12, No. 2
Primosch: Five Poems [World Premiere - PCMS Commission]
Korngold: Caprice Fantastique
Scott: Transparência  [World Premiere - PCMS Commission]
Janáček: Sonata for Violin and Piano
