About This Performance

Their annual PCMS concert—and first with new Romanian-born cellist Mihai Marica—features Gabriela Lena Frank’s folk-music-inspired Quijotadas, based on the story of Don Quixote, and quartets by Mozart and Beethoven that were composed only 16 years apart, underscoring the rapid evolution of the genre at the turn of the 19th century.

Mozart: Quartet in F Major, K. 590
Frank: Quijotadas
Beethoven: Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3, Razumovsky
