Questions About Livestreaming

How do I watch a PCMS concert online?

Each concert will be streamed in real time on our website. Just visit our Livestream page or click the link in your concert reminder email.

We recommend listening on high-quality headphones/speakers for an optimal audio experience.

Please access the stream 15 minutes early to test your system to ensure you don't miss any of the performance.

Where else can I watch?

Performances will also stream on our YouTube and Facebook channels.

Can I watch on my television?

SmartTVs and streaming devices (e.g. AppleTV, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Roku) typically have the YouTube app pre-installed or available to download from their app stores. Once you have the YouTube app downloaded, search for the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society YouTube channel, where you can watch the current livestream.

If I miss the livestream, can I still watch the video later?

Concerts will be broadcast in real time and will remain streaming for 72 hours (subject to the artists' approval).

I can't get the video to play. What am I doing wrong?

A slow internet connection could be the issue. Check your location and the number of devices connected to your network. Refreshing your browser may also help.

A weak internet connection can also cause problems. If connectivity is low on your device, try moving closer to your Wi-Fi router.

Also please be sure your internet browser is up to date. For best user experience, we suggest viewing through the following internet browsers: Chrome 48+, Firefox 44+, Microsoft Edge 14+, Safari 9+.

Can I make the video full screen?

Yes, the option to enter full-screen mode is located in the lower right corner of the video frame. To exit full screen mode, simply press the "Esc" button to return to the main page.

Can I hide the YouTube chat window?

Yes, simply enter full-screen mode as detailed above.

How do I adjust the volume?

In addition to the sound controls on your device, there is a volume control button inside the video stream, located in the lower left corner of the frame.

Can I control the video resolution?

Yes, there is a video resolution control located in the lower right corner of the video frame. It should adjust to your bandwidth automatically, but you can control this manually if you wish.
