About This Performance

This concert is supported in part by the Adele & John Gray Endowment Fund, in honor of Gideon Paz

Known for its “vitality, clarity of line, (and) depth of sound” (The Strad), the Ariel Quartet is joined by “technically flawless and deeply expressive” (New York Times) cellist Alisa Weilerstein for a program entitled Folklore. Exploring the influence of folk music on art music across centuries and continents, the afternoon concludes with Alexander Glazunov’s lush and sonorous A Major String Quintet.
