About This Performance

This concert is supported in part by the Adele & John Gray Endowment Fund, in memory of Gideon Paz.

With a celebrated career spanning five decades, Pinchas Zukerman is admired for the expressive lyricism of his playing, singular beauty of tone, and impeccable musicianship. For his first PCMS performance since 2012, this “forever-young virtuoso” (Los Angeles Times) joins forces with pianist Shai Wosner for an all-Brahms recital. Heard in succession, it is fascinating to experience Brahms’s progression through this triptych of violin sonatas—extraordinary masterpieces that occupy their own rarefied worlds of elegant construction, romantic sweep, and exquisite beauty.

Brahms: Scherzo in C Minor from F-A-E Sonata
Brahms: Violin Sonata in G Major, Op. 78
Brahms: Violin Sonata in A Major, Op. 100
